Voting has closed in the crucial CWU ballot regarding new terms and conditions for workers at Royal Mail.

The ballot closed at midday today, 11 July.

The CWU has had significant pushback on social media regarding the terms of the proposed new Business Recovery, Transformation and Growth Agreement.

The original ballot timeline was suspended due to what the union described as a “toxic” working environment at Royal Mail, following a fraught and bitter dispute between the employer and CWU members working at the postal operator.

It involves more than 115,000 CWU members.

The CWU's Postal Executive recommended a yes vote.

The result is expected to be announced later today.
