Roland DG Irish arm to merge with UK

Wide-format kit manufacturer Roland DG (UK) has integrated the Irish operations of its business into the UK company, following strong growth in the Irish market.

As part of the move, Roland DG Ireland will move out of its current Dublin base, which it shares with Roland Music, to its own dedicated site, equipped with "state-of-the-art" demo facilities.

According to the company, the Irish arm of the manufacturer will benefit from the UK's infrastructure, as well as its marketing team, and will help improve its technical expertise.

Roland DG Ireland, led by general manager Dave Rainsford, also anticipates the agreement will allow the company to maximise its market share in the territory.

Jerry Davies, managing director for Roland DG in the UK, agreed: "Roland DG Ireland's customer base has grown to the extent that its requirements will be better served by a higher level of dedicated service and support, which is exactly what it will get as a result of this integration."

He added that the team has an "intimate knowledge of the market and its nuances and has developed some very strong relationships over the years".

Earlier this month, the company showcased the newest version of its VersaCAMM VPi integrated printer/cutter at the Fespa Digital exhibition in Amsterdam.
