Ricoh Pro C901 + enhances processing power and paper handling

Ricoh has upgraded its Pro C901 90ppm digital colour press, with a higher duty cycle, support for thicker papers, new EFI Fiery controllers and higher capacity toner bottles.

The new flagship model the Pro C901 Graphic Arts + Series, replace the previous Graphic Arts versions.

Duty cycle has been increased by 20% to 700,000 per month, with larger toner bottles able to cover an average of 67,000 clicks increasing throughput between toner changes by 6%.

Media handling has been improved with the maximum supported stock weight increased to 350gsm from 300gsm.

A choice of two EFI servers, the E42 and E82, include Hyper RIP technology for processing multiple pages simultaneously and Xobjects caching for improved PDF page processing.

Ricoh Europe head of production print Peter Williams said: "Our new systems will ensure we continue to provide commercial and corporate printers with the leading systems."

His comment followed the release of InfoSource Western Europe placement data for the first three quarters of 2012, which placed Ricoh in first place in the production devices/colour press cut sheet sector with a total of 36.5% of the market.

They will be on show for the first time at the Hunkeler Innovationdays in Lucerne, Switzerland alongside the firm’s range of continuous feed printers and workflow products from 11-15 February.
