Terrye Teverson retired after 33 years as managing director of Cornwall’s KCS Print and handed the reins to her daughter Zoe Deadman... St Ives cut all ties with its printing past and has rebranded with a completely new name: Kin + Carta... Global packaging giant Essentra’s Kilmarnock site was set to close at the end of the year, with an anticipated loss of 51 jobs... Johnston Press hoisted a ‘for sale’ over the business as it continues the strategic review it started last year. Later in the month Johnston Press’ largest shareholder, Custos, increased its stake from around 20% to more than 25% in order to block “insane board or adviser actions”... Paragon Group was placed at number 13 and new entrant Walstead Group was ranked at 35. Heidelberg revealed it was to acquire rival manufacturer MBO Group in a bid to further expand its presence in the digital post-press market... Precision Colour Printing (PCP) parent Claverley Group moved into the print management sector with the acquisition of Surrey-based Cubiquity... US billing services group OSG signalled its intention to expand into Europe through an all-cash recommended offer for Communisis that valued the PLC at nearly £154m... The Dubai business previously owned by Callprint, Call Print Express Ltd, was sold for the second time in as many months, this time to an MBO team led by regional sales director Richard Saunders and commercial director Daniel Rodgers... Williams Lea Tag acquired on-demand digital content and social media agency THP, which is based in Toronto, Canada, but also operates across North America, the UK and Europe... The former co-owners of GD Web Offset, Paul Mursell and Aspenlink chief executive Jeremy Spring, left the business... Print management specialist Hague Print snapped up rival Venture Business Forms in its second acquisition of 2018. The deal included £6m turnover Venture’s three sites in Leicester, Ilkeston and Newcastle under Lyme... Michael Passmore, former managing director and chairman of Alabaster Passmore & Sons, passed away after a short illness at the age of 90... CPI facilitated an immediate 45,000-copy reprint of Anna Burns’ novel Milkman, the day after it won the Man Booker prize... Landa Digital Printing shipped its first S10P B1 inkjet perfecting press. The press left Landa’s Rehovot manufacturing facility in Israel earlier this month, and is bound for US commercial printer Mercury Print Productions in Rochester, New York... Inks supplier MagnaColours acquired the goodwill and inventory of pigments, dyestuffs and speciality chemicals supplier LJ Specialities, and taken on the firm’s seven staff...
