Pureprint opens Plymouth office, adds Pepper people

Pureprint: second expansion move since start of the year
Pureprint: second expansion move since start of the year

Pureprint Group has opened a new office in Plymouth after taking on a number of ex-Pepper Communications staff.

Pepper went into liquidation in early February after the “pernicious impact of external forces” proved too much for the family-owned business to be able to carry on.

Pureprint Group, which is headquartered in Uckfield, said that Pepper’s ‘data to doormat’ approach was a perfect fit with its own approach and the recent expansion of its own direct mail capabilities.

Pureprint boosted its direct mail setup with the addition of a Quadient intelligent automated enclosing line towards the end of last year.

Details of the individuals that have taken up roles at Pureprint’s new office had not been disclosed at the time of writing, but Pureprint described them as “key staff” from Pepper.

CEO Mark Handford commented: “As our clients’ needs have changed, we continue to align our investments to ensure we always deliver against their requirements.

“By employing some of Pepper Communications’ direct mail specialists, it has increased our capabilities in data driven direct mail and enables us to deliver an enhanced offering to support the increase in demand for these services for our customers.”

The £65m-plus turnover group employs more than 400 staff and has developed its own environmental printing system. It has been carbon neutral since 2002.

A month ago Pureprint also acquired Screaming Colour’s box making business after the creative print specialist went into administration.

Iain Moring, formerly Screaming Colour’s managing director, is now sales director for box making and creative production at Pureprint.

Multi-award winning Pureprint is also a cross-category finalist at the upcoming Printweek Awards.
