Komoris colour control and quality of automation have won it a two-press order from internet and high street print shop Printing.com.
The firm is installing two four-colour B1 Lithrone 440s, both with coater, at its central print site in Salford.
The presses feature Komoris KHS system, which provides one-shot register adjustment and colour matching.
I dont believe in visual colour checks, said Printing.com chief executive Tony Rafferty. With our short runs, as many copies could be wasted in set-up alone. Komoris colour management system prevents this.
Komori won the order over competition from Heidelberg and MAN Roland.
Rafferty wants to grow the company from 15 sales bureaux to potentially 100 within three years.
With increased workloads poised to keep the two new additions busy, he said he would also keep his eye on Komoris five-over-five Lithrone SP.
