"It's really geared up to small to medium-sized printers where sometimes the cost of recruiting someone can be pretty prohibitive," said director Adam Wood.
PrintCV went live on 13 May. It allows job seekers to anonymously register their details in a template CV, which can then be browsed by print firms for free. The company can then blindly mail the candidate for more information.
Individuals can register a CV for 28 days for 5, but to stimulate interest and build the service, registration is currently free. Employers can also subscribe on a monthly basis if they wish to receive an email alert when a suitable candidate registers.
The site has undergone beta testing with a host of print colleges. The firm is also in the initial stages of discussions with unions and Job Centre Plus to encourage job seekers to use the site.
Parent site PrintConnect has also launched a service to provide SMEs with template websites, starting from 500. "We don't want firms to feel they're being left behind because they haven't got a web presence," said Wood.
On top of the basic package the firm also offers a site with an automated email quote system for 750 as well as an online ordering site for the same price. The 1,250 flagship service is a bespoke site that allows print firms to handle orders online and receive automated quote requests.
The next service, set to be launched in mid-June, is PrintStock. Again targeted at small print operations it will aim to help small firms sell surplus stock.
"It will give smaller printers the chance to talk to firms around the UK," said Wood. "The next service after that will be a finishing quote service, as many small printers don't have an inhouse finishing facility but this way they could post a job, which post-press firms can then browse and quote for."
