The group is outsourcing the training to the BPIF, whose regional training co-ordinators will work in partnership with Leeds College of Technology. Polestar aims to bring in 100 apprentices over the next three years.
The trainees will not only go for the relevant NVQ, but also for the new Technical Certificate and Key Skills as part of the Modern Apprenticeship programme.
The five sites Chantry, Petty, Greaves, Varnicoat and Colchester will advertise for the vacancies this week. Applicants will be directed to Polestars website, which will contain more detailed information on the positions. The apprentices will start in the New Year and the majority of vacancies are in printing and finishing.
Group human resources director Catherine Hearn said: Looking at our age profiles we have known for some time that we need to pull more young people through.
