The press has started running on double-day shifts and will move to full continental pattern at the end of this month, according to chief executive Andrew Dalton.
It is producing Pindars typical products such as catalogues and holiday brochures.
The Scarborough firm also plans to invest in mailing and inserting equipment and is assessing its options and premises in which to house the operation, added Dalton.
MAN Roland GB director of web sales Norman Revill said the speed of the installation was an endorsement of what we are doing in project management, which is superior to anyone else in the industry.
The web has additional features, including turner bars and ribbonning capability specified by technical director Dave Williams.
Dalton said trading was tough but that Pindar was beating its sales and profitability targets.
Pindar announced the 5m investment six months ago (PrintWeek, 18 January). It installed its first 48pp Lithoman in early 1999.
