Photobooks snap up sales in western Europe

The photo merchandise market, which includes photobooks and calendars, will continue to thrive, according to a Futuresource Consulting report.

The study revealed a 44% growth in retail value in western Europe in 2008, pushing the total market value up to €545m (£439m).

The research showed that photobooks account for the majority of growth, making up 52% of the market. Futuresource Consulting expects this to grow to 57% by the end of the year. The report also claimed 30m photobooks would be sold in western Europe in 2012.
