The UK qualifications regulatory bodies, including the QCA and SQA, have said there is only enough funding to tidy up current standards, unless substantial employer support is shown for Print Estimating at levels two and three, and Digital Printing at level three.
PGC NTO chief executive Richard Beamish told PrintWeek that these qualifications would be put on hold for 12 months without backing from printers.
We have a window of opportunity to bid for support and we must be able to demonstrate demand. So if a company needs these qualifications they need to let me know as soon as possible. The briefest e-mail in support will suffice.
