The ODM Super Sewer XXL from US manufacturer On Demand Machinery has been designed for stitching tabloid size photo books up to 25mm thick.

It is an automatic in-line machine designed for on-demand photo books up to 450x450mm and is able to do a reverse lock-stitch on the head and foot of the book block, which its smaller sister machines are also capable of.

The Super Sewer XXL pre-drills holes prior to thread-stitching the book block, which allows it to handle blocks up to 25mm thick and can run at 600 books per hour.

It also features a touchscreen LCD colour control panel.

On Demand Machinery will be showing the machine at this year's Drupa.
