Clothing label firm Paxar Apparel Group has unveiled plans to relocate its ticket and packaging printing plant from Harlesden, London, to Harlow in Essex.
It is consulting with staff, but said it hoped most of the 90 employees would chose to move to Harlow, where the firms barcode labelling operation, Paxar Monarch, is based.
The move will include the transfer of printing, digital printing and finishing kit, resulting in a combined site at Harlow that will be able to produce roll-to-roll and sheetfed tickets.
The firms design studio will also move. The whole site will come under the control of Paxar Monarch managing director Bob Murray.
Building work is needed in Harlow to accommodate the move and if the proposal is accepted, the firm hopes to complete construction work and relocation by the end of the summer.
A spokesman for the company said: "The move is not to cut costs its because the two plants are so similar.
"Anyone supplying the apparel market has to be price-competitive and as efficient as possible."
