Papermule wins IPC software deal

IPC Media is bringing classified ad production in-house with the installation of a new system from Papermule.

The publisher will go live with the British software developer’s AdDesk production and management system in the New Year. It is also implementing a new ad booking system.

Previously, IPC outsourced ad production to CC Media Group.

IPC head of ad production Tom Reynolds said the Papermule solution was “by far the best fit for IPC” and would streamline and automate processes at the company.

The media group produces more than 65 titles, ranging from weeklies such as TV Times, Chat and Woman to glossy monthlies including Country Life, Wallpaper* and Marie Claire.

Papermule, based in Diss, specialises in digital asset management and workflow software for automating pre-media functions for publishers. The firm’s clients include News UK, Associated Newspapers and Independent News & Media Ireland.

Managing director Mike Hoy said the firm was delighted with the win: “We worked closely with the IPC team to create a system that will produce all of IPC’s classified content, automating as many processes as possible.”

Separately, the outcome of the multi-million pound IPC print tender involving a raft of titles currently printed by Polestar and Wyndeham is expected to be made public in the New Year.
