PaperCo is set to follow price rises in sector

PaperCo has become the latest paper merchanting group to announce price increases, following the lead of Map and Antalis in recent weeks (PrintWeek, 16 September).

The firm intends to increase its prices on a number of products by between 6-8% with effect from 25 October. A letter to customers by managing director Alistair Gough said the paper merchant had received price increase notifications from all its major suppliers in recent weeks.

Gough said the firm had been in negotiation with suppliers for some time over the increases. Due to their magnitude it had been left with no alternative but to raise selling prices on a number of products. Map and Antalis will increase their prices by 5-10% and 5-8% respectively in October.
