Overmatter: political presents

Overmatter recently embraced the joys of the alternative Advent calendar scene, not least because the explosion in special interest Advent calendars (gin, rum, Pringles, pork scratchings, tea bags, pet treats, beauty products… and more) has resulted in additional print work for some lucky printers.

However, there was one calendar that came to our attention too late for inclusion. In a masterpiece of merchandising, pop-up e-store Corbyn Corner Shop has already sold out of its ‘Jerry Christmas’ Advent calendar.

“All exclusively designed, printed and shipped from the UK, our products are a celebration of an extraordinary year for Jeremy Corbyn. After a stint at Glastonbury, a ‘better than expected’ election performance, and even a feature on Gogglebox, it’s only fitting that our man Jezza got his own Christmas merch,” says the business, which is donating 10% of its profits to Save the Children.

Fear not, though, in the absence of the calendar Jerry Christmas jumpers, mugs, phone cases and t-shirts are still available. The perfect Christmas gift for the Corbynite in your life, or a rage-inducing Secret Santa item for colleagues of an opposing political persuasion.
