Overmatter: Football shirt friday

Football AND printing – what’s not to like? With the triumphs/disasters* [*delete as appropriate] of various UK teams never far from the headlines, we know that printers’ passion for the beautiful game stretches up and down the country – further than a Ronaldo free kick, one might say.

As the Premier League draws to a closely-fought conclusion come May, Kingfisher Print & Design in Totnes is highlighting some footy-related charity action exactly a month earlier – 11 April is Football Shirt Friday, organised by the Bobby Moore Fund, part of Cancer UK.

The Kingfisher team is dusting off assorted strips in readiness.

“We have a big football following and the guys are already researching vintage shirts to try out-do each other!” says marketing guru Jodie Fulton.

Teams supported include Plymouth Argyle, Arsenal, Everton and (of course) Manchester United. “Our managing director Ross is an Everton fan, and he reminds me every day that Everton are above us in the table,” adds Man U fan and account manager Mike Mortimer, through gritted teeth.

The Kingfisher crew hope others will ‘join the team’. Click here for more details. Who knows, print could end up top of the charity’s league.
