A website which advertises print industry jobs and gives print-orientated job seekers a chance to post their skills online has been launched at www.printjobsearch.co.uk.
The site advertises job vacancies under six headings sales, design, production, prepress, printing and finishing and is aimed at everyone from "shop floor mechanics to commercial sales and management staff", according to Printjobsearch commercial director Diane Wild.
Managers hunting staff can stipulate the type of candidate sought from scanner operator to production director and can indicate the sort of print background needed digital, B3, B2, B1, web screen, packaging or labels.
"The people who set up the site have come from the print industry and felt there was a need for this sort of site," said Wild. "They felt it could offer a quicker and easier route to finding specialist staff and vacancies than currently available."
Information about the site has been sent to over 11,000 printers and is also being advertised in the GPMU magazine.
To advertise a vacancy costs from 125 a month. But for job seekers it is free to publish a CV.
