OneVision launches automated skin tone correction tool

Global pre-media software developer OneVision has launched the latest version of its Amendo automated image enhancement software for print and publishing companies.

Included in an array of new features is Amendo Perfect Skin, an automated tool that uses a facial recognition algorithm to pick out faces and then analyses their skin tones before executing any required corrections in order to achieve "perfect skin".

Other improvements include revised versions of the highlight and shadow features, which now only affect quarter and three-quarter tone areas respectively, an improved user interface, new options for handling file extensions, and support for additional file formats, including PNG and RAW.

OneVision has also added a tool that allows Amendo users to view CMYK and greyscale images with a paper simulation, and an update to the maximum/minimum dot value feature that gives the option to apply minimum dot settings to the border area only to help preserve detail in the centre of the image.
