The two firms dont have a global agreement and are currently working on a country-by-country basis.
In some territories MAN Roland dealers dont sell the DICOpack and DICOpress and in others Xeikon has set-up operations competing head to head.
MAN Roland will decide at a corporate level by the end of the year if the relationship will continue, but this seems unlikely.
MAN Roland said in its 2000 annual report that it expected its Digital Systems Division to have sales of 69m (EUR100m) by 2002 with double-digit annual growth.
It never reached that level, said Digital Printing Systems marketing manager Sabine Sirach. But it didnt for anyone, look at Heidelberg.
The firm sold 100 Xeikon-based presses worldwide.
