The pan-European printer manufacturer is the latest to develop a new ink application method, joining the likes of HP, which announced its new latex ink range earlier in the year.
According to Océ, CrystalPoint technology converts the company's TonerPearls toner into a gel.
This toner-gel is then jetted and crystallised on to any type of paper, producing crisp, water-fast, high-quality images with, Océ said, extremely accurate dot placement.
