The Northern Irish bank has revealed a 5m operation to replace all its 10, 20, 50 and 100 notes over the next eight weeks.
The new notes will sport a new logo for the bank and be a different colour, although the design will otherwise remain unchanged. A spokesman for the bank refused to reveal any further details on the new notes or where they will be printed.
The bank's plastic 5 notes, which were not involved in the robbery, will remain in circulation.
Speaking at a press conference last Friday, Northern Bank chief executive Don Price said that it is "unprecedented" for a bank to replace its notes as a result of a robbery.
He added that the cash would be replaced "as the notes come through our system."
