The decision marks a U-turn for IIR, which announced a change of venue last May after its research showed many more people would be attracted to London.
Now, having spent the last six months reviewing alternative venues and locations, IIR has concluded that Brightons Metropole Hotel remains the best venue for the event.
IIR event manager Sarah Hooper said: Newstec is the UKs only exhibition for the newspaper industry and thats why its so important that we deliver the right event for both visitors and exhibitors.
We have spent the last few months listening to those requirements and can only feel motivated by the passion for Newstec held by so many people.
Brighton as a location has a unique appeal offering attendees unparalleled opportunities to network and socialise in an intimate environment.
Newstecs only other attempt to move location, to Birminghams NEC in 1990s, was widely considered to be a failure.
The final decision was made by Newstecs steering committee, including representatives from Agfa, KPG, MAN Roland, Fuji, pcsdotNet, KBA, WRH Marketing, and Newtecs sponsor The Newspaper Society.
The event takes place at The Metropole Hotel between 23-25 May 2005.
