News International praises Mosca strapping machines installation

The UK's biggest newspaper publisher, News International, has lauded a recent investment in equipment from manufacturer Mosca.

Mosca provided 114 specialist strapping machines – the company's biggest ever order – as part of News international's £660m spend on three new newspaper printing plants in Scotland, Knowsley and Broxbourne.

Allan Wain, group manufacturing director at News International, said: "We're very pleased with the performance of the Mosca machines. Since installation, they have been running virtually trouble-free, and it's a real bonus to have equipment that is specifically developed for strapping newspapers.

"The Mosca equipment works extremely well in conjunction with the Ferag mailroom line. Every bundle is securely and quickly cross-strapped, before it is conveyed into the palletiser, ready for distribution."

The equipment was ordered through Ferag, which provided the mailroom equipment for the News International plants.
