New HP challenge for Horsten

Mimaki EMEA general marketing manager Mike Horsten is to leave the Japanese-headquartered wide-format kit manufacturer to take up a new sales role with HP.

Horsten confirmed the news at Lyon’s C!print trade show last week. After six-years with the business, C!print was Horsten’s final trade show for Mimaki before he takes up the new role with HP as EMEA sales manager for large-format graphic production on 1 March.

“It’s a double feeling,” said Horsten.

“I’m extremely excited and really looking forward to it. I see the challenges in front of me yet I’m leaving a fantastic team, an innovative company and products in a broad range of segments, ranging from small-object to high-speed textile machines and everything in between.

“I really enjoyed working at Mimaki but I just see that HP is giving me the opportunity to enhance my career further.”

Horsten, who has previously worked in the marketing teams for distributors of both HP and Kodak products, will be based in HP’s Barcelona head office, but spend much of his time travelling across EMEA. He declined to reveal information on what his new role will entail.

“The menu always looks nice but when you get to your food it’s really different to what the menu said, and that's the case for every company, so I will only know when I’m closer to it,” he said.
