Formed this spring, Printing Across Borders (PAB) will hold meetings at Print 05 in Chicago and at the Digital Proof Forum, in Stuttgart, Germany.
Founding member of PAB, Olaf Drmmer said: "There is a very strong need in the printing industries to introduce common global printing standards, and while there are international standards like ISO 12647, their global acceptance leaves space for improvement."
Drmmer, who is also chairman of the European Colour Initiative (ECI), added: "While ISO has done an excellent job, it became obvious that some more informal communication forum was lacking."
