Roland DG has added two new models to its VersaStudio range of compact printers.

The manufacturer said the BN2-30 eco-solvent integrated printer/cutter with a maximum printing width of 736mm, and the BD-12 UV direct-to-object printer for items up to A4 size, both feature vibrant, detailed printing, plus work areas expanded over current models, to enable increased productivity and profitability.

The BN2-30 can be used for the creation of graphics, photos, and text in any desired shape.

Roland DG said the printer is compact enough to be operated in a limited space “yet combines excellent quality and productivity to quickly produce a wide variety of items, from original t-shirt graphic transfers, stickers and labels to posters and uniquely shaped displays”.

The BD-12 UV flatbed printer, meanwhile, is capable of high-definition direct printing on a variety of objects and materials. It supports items up to A4 size and 102mm in height. The machine can also print on cylindrical objects using the optional rotary axis.

Its EUV5 ink is compatible with numerous materials, from soft goods like fabric and leather to hard goods like wood and plastics. Glass and metal can also be printed on using the primer ink.

Additionally, a gloss ink option produces premium gloss or matt finishes and realistic textures including 3D embossed effects.

The device can be used to produce high-value customised items like smartphone cases, giftware, sports memorabilia, fashion accessories, and cosmetic products with fine details, according to Roland DG.

Ryugo Nimura, president of global sales and marketing at Roland DG, said: “The BN2-30 and BD-12 enable anyone, including entrepreneurs, companies bringing outsourced production in-house, educational institutions committed to STEAM education practices, and even those who have never used printers before to unleash their creativity and easily produce a wide variety of items.

“We will continue to expand the VersaStudio series to deliver innovative solutions that support people’s creative activities and business growth and encourage them to succeed in their new challenges.”

Both new machines are equipped with printheads that produce high-definition output and offer multiple print modes suitable for different applications. They are also designed for “excellent usability and simple operation”, with the machine’s functions performed using the included Utility software.

The printers come standard with FlexiDesigner VersaStudio Edition software, which can be used for everything from design creation to printing, as well as VersaWorks 7 output software, with improved usability and support for both Windows and macOS.

Roland DG Connect, a connected platform that provides tools such as visualisation of operating status and easy profit calculation, while including proactive support to help prevent errors, is also available.
