Moo.com picks Autobond for US investment

UK laminator manufacturer Autobond has installed a Mini Digital 36T machine at the US arm of London printer Moo.com.

Moo.com, which produces laminated business cards, postcards and greetings cards, said that the company invested in an Autobond after a bad experience with another laminator at its London location.

Brian Murphy, vice president of operations, said: "We print on HP Indigos at the London site and initially had work laminated on an Autobond machine at a nearby finishing house.

"After a while, we invested in our own laminator in order to handle the process in-house, but we didn’t buy an Autobond model and that was a big mistake. When we set up our US operation [in Rhode Island] earlier this year we knew which laminator manufacturer we were going to deal with."

The Mini Digital 36T is the smallest laminator in the Autobond range. It can apply up to six tonnes of pressure in the nip rollers.
