Its Gazette Media Company subsidiary has ordered a 16-unit Goss Colorliner 70 line, which will go live in October 2003. Managing director Alastair MacColl said the investment was "extremely good news for customers, our readers and the Tees Valley area".
The Goss press, which includes 70 printing units and a double couple 2:5:5/2:3:3 jaw folder, will be capable of producing 128 full-colour tabloid pages at up to 70,000 copies an hour.
Trinity Mirror has now ordered 20 Goss Colorliner 70 four-high towers for its three new regional sites. The others are at Fort Dunlop and the Western Mail & Echo in Cardiff.
