Media Square to buy Huntsworth divisions as share trading halts

Media Square has agreed to a 63m cash deal to purchase Huntsworths marketing services and advertising businesses, following its foray into print management.

The AIM-listed marketing and advertising services provider has also suspended dealing of its shares prior to the publication of a declaration document.

Media Square chief executive Jeremy Middleton said that suspension of share dealing was normal in a deal of this size, which he said was effectively a reverse take-over.

"The firm we are buying is twice as large as we are, and until we can give shareholders all the information regarding our plans, share dealing remains suspended."

Middleton said he expected to release the document within the next week.

He said the firm's move into print management it bought Symbian Print Intelligence and Lineword and established SPI Management in August had proved a success (PrintWeek, 11 August).

"These acquisitions have been very successful, and we hope to announce new contracts soon," said Middleton.
