Media Square unveils strong results

Media Square has reported significant increases in sales and profits in its unaudited end-of-year results.

The firm has also appointed Kelvin MacKenzie as non-executive chairman, following his recent tenure as chairman of publisher Highbury House Communications.

The year-end results to 31 October 2005 showed sales more than trebled to 61.6m, with pre-tax profits increasing 74% to 2.6m.

Chief executive Jeremy Middleton said the results demonstrated the soundness of the firm's strategy.

Following its acquisition of Huntsworth's marketing services group in November the firm has changed its year-end from 31 October to 28 February. In June it will announce 16-month figures, which will include a contribution from the marketing services group.

The group will spend the next year integrating and developing its enlarged business.

Its print interests include print management firm Symbian Print Intelligence and point of sale firm Coutts UK.
