MBA Group buys Cygnus software to clean up data

MBA Group has invested in Cygnus - the data management software from The Software Bureau - in order to improve its data processing offering.

North London-based MBA has bought licences for the software to allow usage across its London site, as well as its disaster recovery plant in Warrington, Cheshire.

The Cygnus program is expected to provide MBA with full control over how it manages client data.

This can be carried out using suppression files such as including Mortascreen, Disconnect and Re Connect and The Bereavement Register.

Martin Taylor, group data manager of the MBA Group said: "The quality of the communication you send to your customers can speak volumes about your business, therefore having clean accurate data is essential.

"Cygnus will help us guarantee the accuracy of our clients’ mailings, consolidate our data processing software into one neat solution and reduce the number of man hours needed to manage our customers’ databases."

Other Cygnus users include Howitt, Metro Mail, Inc Direct and Real Digital.

Earlier this year, MBA made a £5m-plus investment in digital print and finishing kit to aid its push in the transpromo market.
