Markzware has begun shipping its pre-flighting software package, FlightCheck v4.0, for the Macintosh.
The products drag-and-drop system can scan a wide variety of files, including QuarkXPress, PageMaker, Multi-Ad Creator, Illustrator, Photoshop, PDF
and CorelDraw, and can identify over 150 problems automatically.
The system investigates native files without the application that created them and verifies critical missing elements, such as images, fonts and colours.
FlightCheck Macintosh v4.0 has 70 new views on its views palette, which enables the user to zero-in on a
specific list of TIFF or TrueType fonts. .
The software also measures ink density for all CMYK images and provides image previews for images used in a PDF.
A next problem button, which enables a user to identify related problems by skipping pages, has also been added to the package..
FlightCheck Macintosh v4.0 costs 282 ($399), while an upgrade from any former version costs 70.
Customers could qualify for a free upgrade if they purchased FlightCheck after 1 April this year.
