Local help sought for W2P offering

Jo Francis tracks down the solutions to your technical troubles

Q At the request of a customer we have designed a web-to-print offering, for their website and others that we supply to, unfortunately it is an area where we are not equipped for the work. So I’m looking for a printer that can produce very short-run printed labels. We are currently printing them in-house on a Xerox 7760 and a 700 and have found that both machines struggle due to registration problems with the labels we purchase. We are in the process of giving the software a thorough test and expect it to be installed on 17 websites. It is currently installed on our own and eBay, my customer is also in negotiation with Amazon to have it installed on the UK site, so I would hope it would bring in a regular amount of work. We would preferably like to work with a North East printer as we would have to install a PC and provide some training, but I’m not aware of any firms that can do the work. Any help would be much appreciated.

AI haven’t found a plethora of options in the North East, try Thornton Print in Newcastle upon Tyne (0191 270 0555, www.thorntonprint.co.uk); Springfield in Hull (01482 226461, www.springfieldsolutions.co.uk); Hine Labels in Rotherham (01709 369222, www.hinelabels.com). Please get in touch if you’re a label printer in the region so I can add you to the list.
