Langley focuses efforts on encapsulation

Bury-St-Edmunds-based Langley Lamination has said it is returning to its traditional roots of encapsulation and leaving lamination behind after forming a partnership with a local firm.

It has teamed up with Harleston-based finisher Coatings Direct, and the two companies are now offering a complete coatings service, with Coatings Direct offering customers a laminating service.

Current managing director Hugh Langley's father started up the company as an encapsulator nearly 20 years ago.

Hugh expanded the company into lamination. However, he said prices in the lamination market has been driven too low for the company to remain involved.

He explained: "We realised that we would need to diversify and offer a wider range of services. This would require a major capital investment and relocation to larger premises.

"We have weighed up the options and decided the best way forward is to join forces with Coatings Direct.

"They are an innovative and dynamic company who believe in investment for the future in order to maintain their reputation for quality and service and strengthen the level of support to their clients."

Langley added that customers wanting any coatings – including lamination, spot UV, overall UV and die-cutting – need only head to one place for everything.

The company, which currently comprises of Langley and two staff, with occasional help from semi-retired Langley senior, can encapsulate anything from credit cards up to A0 (860mm wide).

It also offers drilling, round cornering, guillotining and eyeleting services.
