The Karat was a joint venture between KBA and Scitex, but was taken over by the German press manufacturer in April after the agreement ended.
The division also handles service activities for the 46 Karat and the Genius 52, the machine with which KBA would like to take on Heidelbergs Speedmaster 52.
There are 60 install-ations of the Karat 74 in the US and Europe at the moment, although KBA is about to ship the first one to the Middle East.
A coater version of the digital press first appeared at Ipex earlier this year.
