The Southend-based repro specialist will supply remote workflow and pre-press services for the publication. It becomes the last RBI journal to appoint J Jays, bringing the total number to 35 excluding supplements. The number of titles means that J Jays is working on 100,000pp a year for RBI.
"J Jays' experience in implementing remote workflow tools, and our long- standing relationship, has given us the confidence to award the contract to them," said RBI production and facilities director Eric Lambert.
Both parties have been working together for the past 15 years and the latest contract is on a rolling basis.
Proofs for the New Scientist will be done on J Jay's two DuPont Cromalin b3 proofing machines, which adhere to the PPA proof-4press standard.
