Ipex South Asia attracts major brands for show in September

The top team at Ipex South Asia said the show at the NSE ground from 16 to 19 September in Mumbai will focus on "differentiation" and how customers can add value with its range of print, softwares and finishing kit.

According to the show organisers, Adobe, Agfa Jeti, Apsom Infotex, Canon, EFI, Konica Minolta, Ricoh, Xerox, and many others are part of the exhibitor line-up at the show.

PrintWeek India will be producing the Ipex show daily "live" during the four-day event.

Trever Crawford, director at Ipex, said: "Following the acquisition of Ipex from the industry federation Picon in 2006, part of our long term strategy is to look for geo-cloning opportunities in developing markets. Part of that process was the launch of Ipex South Asia, our first non UK located Ipex event, ran in Noida. It was a exciting time and a challenging process. I learnt a lot about how to put on a successful event in India, which is to do with having strong local partners, alliances, relationships and fully embracing the challenges of the domestic industry and the culture of print.

He added: "Having ran Ipex for a number of cycles in Europe we are aware of what channels work to drive visitor registration, but we learnt very quickly that gaining connection amongst Indian printers wouldn’t necessarily respond to the usual channels. We discovered that success was had with direct communications, such as SMS, outdoor advertising, radio, telemarketing. And combined with web, email, advertising it was impactful."

Crawford concluded: "For me the main impact generated in India was through what has become a hugely successful Ipex global brand. There has been a close relationship between the Indian print community and Ipex. Which is why, a large numbers of printers attend Ipex in UK and in Mumbai."
