Swindon-based Interprint has invested 100,000 in expanding its services to large-format digital printing under the Interpanel name.
The firm is building a mezzanine at its print facility in west Swindon. It has also installed an Encad Novajet 850, an Epson 9000 and a Seal 62 laminating and mounting machine.
"It was a natural progression for Interprint to move into this market as we already have all the front-end equipment, including an A3 drum scanner," said Interprint sales manager Martin Watts.
"There seem to be very few people producing this type of material and it will open doors in print."
The firm will print point of sale material, large-format posters, and display work all to a maximum width of 1,500mm. It is talking to four or five exhibition companies in the UK as potential customers.
It also plans to go CTP and is looking at Heidelberg and Agfa systems. "Being a Heidelberg house, we like the Heidelberg system," said Watts.
Interprint has two-colour and four-colour Speedmasters, as well as two mono SRA2s, and does all its finishing in-house.
