Inquest opened following print boss death

A coroner’s inquest has been opened after the director of an Essex print company was found dead at the firm's premises.

Alan Dinsdale, director of Wickford-based screen printer A&S Print Services, died last week after reportedly falling on to a guillotine.

A spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service said an ambulance was dispatched to the facility at Fanton Hall Farm shortly after midday on Tuesday 21 January, but that the crew were unable to help 56-year-old Dinsdale, who was confirmed dead at the scene.

Essex Police were also called to the scene. A spokesman confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances and that a police report had been filed with the coroner.

A coroner’s inquest was opened and adjourned in Chelmsford on 27 January (Monday).

A post mortem examination report recorded the provisional cause of death as an incised wound to the neck and hypovolaemic shock, which results from severe blood loss.

A full inquest will be held at a later date pending an investigation into the death, which has been launched by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
