Kirkcaldy-based commercial printer Inglis Allen (Scotland) has been bought by its management team after the firm was put into receivership on 21 August.
A team led by managing director Graham Bowstead bought the company from Glasgow-based receiver Graingers, which was looking to sell the business as a going concern.
The new firm, Inglis Allen UK, will employ 60 people in Kirkcaldy and will focus on the niche market of arts and entertainment printing. It will also continue to work for the papermaking, design, finance and marketing sectors.
Historically weve tried to be all things to all people, said sales and marketing director Frank McAtear. But now we intend to specialise in areas where we have strong market share.
In 1999, the company reported sales of 3.4m, but last year the firm closed the majority of its Falkirk operations with the loss of 17 jobs. A further 16 went at the end of August this year, as it closed down several presses and its Falkirk-based office supplies business.
