The commercial printing unit in Mumbai is headed by Dilip Sawant and his son Prasad Sawant.
A print media management graduate, Prasad heads the operations for technology, new product development and marketing strategy.
He said: "We did lot of ground work before we finalised the Enthrone. This machine is small and fitted in our gala leaving the space for the paper movement on the shopfloor."
The machine is equipped with semi-high pile delivery and is capable of quick job changes from thin paper to cardboard with high quality printing by double diameter cylinders.
Prasad said: "The machine has unique features which has enhanced our print quality and capacity. The double diameter cylinders in the machine are capable of taking the substrates upto 600 gsm."
The new machine is already into production and caters mainly to the short-run jobs. Prasad said: "We are concentrating on the short-run jobs because it is an advantage for quick turnaround time. At present, we are printing 30 four-colour short-run jobs in one shift and aim to reach 50 jobs in single shift."
The Rs 12-crore Supressa Graphics, which was established 40 years ago, employs 125 staff, has two print production units: one in Navi Mumbai with a 35,000 sq/ft area providing web-offset and large-format sheetfed printing services and second unit in A to Z Industrial Estate in Mumbai with 5,000 sq/ft providing the pre-press on-demand digital and small-format offset services.
