Inca Digital has increased the speed of its Eagle 44 flatbed large-format ink-jet press by up to 60%.
Improved electronics and software have allowed the Eagles bed to move continuously, which results in higher throughput especially with small sheet sizes.
"Our technical team has worked hard to come up with this development, which in addition to higher productivity also means less vibration, better energy efficiency and reduced UV exposure," said managing director Bill Baxter.
Top speed with 2.4x1.6m sheets has increased by 15% to 90m2 an hour.
Existing users have been upgraded and it will be included in new machines.
Inca is holding a series of open days at its Cambridge factory on 10 and 11 December and 8 and 9 January.
