Inc Direct invests in a Xerox iGen3

Inc Direct has bought a Xerox iGen3 digital press to print a mailing that it claims breaks the mould in levels of personalisation.

The firm is using the equipment for welcome packs for Carphone Warehouse with 80 variables providing customers with information on their phone.

"The concept for Carphone Warehouse is a first," said Noel Warner, managing director of the Enfield-based print, mailing and fulfilment firm.

"After working on the A5 16pp welcome pack for so long we did not want another printer to gain the credit," added Warner.

He installed the 500,000 iGen3 last month because of its reliability, quality and speed of up to 3,000 SRA3 sheets per hour. It will produce 5,000 packs a day.

Inc Direct worked for approximately one year with marketer WDPM and nearly 100 personalised items include upgrade vouchers, insurance and technology details.

Warner's firm was one of the UK's first to use Xerox FreeFlow workflow powered by XMPie personalisation software and a Duplo 5000 bar-coded stitching line.
