In-print Colour increases automation with 250,000 finishing spend

Fast turnaround commercial printer In-print Colour has increased automation in its cutting and folding after a 250,000 spend.

The Malton-based company installed a Stahlfolder TH 56 and Polar 92X Plus touchscreen controlled guillotine, which has been upgraded from a Polar 78.

In-print's machines will handle work from a Speedmaster SM 52 10-colour long perfector, and managing director Paul Coulson said that he considered the TH 56 to be a "10-colour folder".

He said: "The TH 56 has six plates and then four with a gatefold option, meaning we can provide a really comprehensive range of folds. We are cutting tonnes of paper and with the B2 rather than B3 format it will be easier to handle the paper."

The latest investments follow last year's install of a Eurobind EB1300, which replaced a Eurobind EB500.

As well as its fast turnaround work, In-print has its own design service and handles wide format metallic print.

The company claims to have folded more than three million sheets since December 2010, including print runs from 500 to 500,000.
