The addition coincides with the launch of the European Week for Safety and Health at Work, which starts in the UK on Monday (13 October).
Mike Wilcock, chairman of the Health & Safety Commissions Printing Industry Advisory Committee, said the new section would provide access to the HSEs publications, including the complete version of COSHH Essentials for Printers, which was previously only available as a priced publication.
Printing is a dynamic industry with great traditions, but printers do continue to suffer unnecessary accidents and cases of ill-health, Wilcock said.
By creating specific web pages aimed at the printing industry, Wilcock hoped the industry could be made safer and healthier.
The theme of the European Week for Safety and Health at Work is Dangerous substances handle with care. The Health & Safety Commission will use it to launch its consultation document, A strategy for workplace health and safety in Great Britain to 2010 and beyond.
