Former executive vice president of the Imaging and Printing Group Vyomesh Joshi will lead the combined Imaging and Personal Systems Group. Former executive vice president of the Personal Systems Group Duane Zitzner has retired.
The move was not expected to have any affect on the running of HP's Indigo or wide-format divisions, which were part of the IP&G. The firm will continue to report the financial performance of the segments separately.
HP claimed the move was to "accelerate profitable growth, leverage the power of its portfolio and strengthen its market position".
It sent a strong signal to the market that the firm continues to resist calls from some analysts to spin off the profitable printing business from the rest of the IT giant.
