Howard Hunt's 4m upgrade includes Mitsubishi Diamond press

Direct mail printer Howard Hunt has continued its rapid expansion with the installation of a Mitsubishi Diamond 3000 reelfed press.

The investment at the £50m turnover company is part of a £4m, 12-month investment programme, which included the purchase of two Xeikon 8000s and two Buhrs inserters.

Lucy Edwards, assistant managing director at the company, said: "The new press fills the gap between high volume and short runs and can run sheet to sheet and reel to sheet depending on the job.

"We were hugely impressed with the customer service at Mitsubishi and the set up was completed really quickly."

The press, which is targeted at the medium to long run markets, came fitted with a Mabeg RS-104 reel sheeter and reinforces Howard Hunt Group's position as Mitsubishi's largest customer in Europe.

The press uses Staccato screening and the X-Rite Spectrophotometer to maintain accurate colour throughout the press run.
