H&M sets up photobook division after Ashgate install

Academic bookbinders Hollingworth and Moss (H&M) has set up a photobook division after splashing 180,000 on new kit from Ashgate Automation.

Leeds-based H&M installed one of the first Fastbind FotoMount F46e large-format, lay-flat photobook makers in the UK. The machine was bought alongside a Fastbind BooXter photobook maker, Elite XT perfect binder, KAS CreaseMatic150 programmable creaser with CreaseFold on-line folder and MD-650 roll laminator.

According to Paul Hollingworth, managing director alongside his brother Richard, the company intends to use the skills it has picked up in years of bookbinding to offer photobook production.

He said: "We first looked at the opportunities for photobooks in the USA and realised that there was a large and virtually untapped market in the UK.

"Photographers were sending their work overseas and it was taking between eight-to-ten weeks to deliver, whereas we can offer our service with a two week turnaround."
