The Moorgreen, Nottingham-based company will take delivery of the CD 74-10P in February to replace a four-year-old SM 74-10P, which had "passed its best".
Hickling & Squires managing director Richard Wells told printweek.com that the new perfecting kit would "bolster our plant list" and bring it up to date.
The 46-staff commercial printer has invested in seven Heidelberg presses since 2000, with the CD 74 the second order this year.
Wells said: "We love the print quality, the sharpness, and it doesn't mark when perfecting at speed."
He added that the press offers a quicker sheet transfer and the ability to feed through thicker stocks than its previous model.
"The press will enable us to produce existing work more efficiently and create capacity, which hopefully will attract new business," added Wells.
The 54-year-old printer's litho set-up also includes a Speedmaster 74-2P and a CD 74-6, while its digital fleet includes a Kodak NexPress 2100.
